Joseph Hollahan enlisted in the Newfoundland Regiment and was killed on July 1, 1916 (Beaumont Hamel).

Address listed as St. John's and he was the son of Samuel Hollahan^* (1855-?) and Julia Matthews (1863-?).

^* Samuel Hollahan was born and raised in Elliston. He moved to Summerville and married. Joseph was his oldest son and was living in St. John's at the time of his enlistment.
