Obituary

 

Born in Elliston, NL, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Cole) Baker. Howard taught school up until 1939, when he went as a radio operator with the Ferry Command during World War II. He retired from Transport Canada after 35 years of service as an Electronics Technician. Surviving are daughter, Dorothy O'Leary (Robert Welsh), Mulgrave; sons, Lorne (late Beryl), Etobicoke, Ont; William (Shirley), Gander NL; Howard (Ramona), Halifax; James (Shirley), Edmonton, AB; and Keith (Janice), Mississauga, Ont; grandchildren, Sean O'Leary, Andrew O'Leary, Daniel O'Leary, Roland Baker, Robin Baker, Richard Baker, Roxanna Baker, Dean Baker, Yvonne Churchill, Lori Skinner, Leanna Spencer and Lisa Baker; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife, Edna (Martin) Baker; son, Douglas.
